My Little Flying Rabbit
OK, so that heading may not make complete sense, but when you see the photographs of my dog you’ll understand.
All the poodle owners out there will understand the hyper-energetic temperament of this breed of dog. My ‘little girl’ is now 5 years old and she has calmed down significantly, however, she still goes nuts when I see her for the first time in a day. Here are some of the photos I took of her recently…
It’s winter at the moment in Brisbane, Australia, so the morning light is still pretty low. I couldn’t resist taking these photos though. Imagine having anyone (human or otherwise) being sooooo incredibly excited to see you - it’s wonderful.
This is what my dog does as soon as she spots me:
It is such a nice feeling, and she has a beautiful nature.
Next time I’ll wait to take the photos when the morning light is a little stronger, and I’ll try using my telephoto lens. These photos were taken with my Canon 350D and the standard 28mm to 70mm lens.
She runs so quickly that I couldn’t really find the right balance between shutter speed and aperture to make sure the photos were both sharp and correctly exposed. So, I did some minor edits in Photoshop…
Photographing animals certainly isn’t easy, but I’ll persevere until I get it ‘just right’. I’ll keep you posted!
