Editing Text in Photoshop
In last week’s post we went through how to insert text into a photograph. This week I’ll go through how to edit that text and make it look less flat. Here again is the final image:

Select the Text Tool again and then click on the Text Warp Tool, which sits to the right of the colour selector box. Up will come the Warp Text menu. For this image I selected the Arc Style, and reduced the Horizontal Bend to +26%. Once you’ve made the changes you want, click OK, and then the tick at the far right of the Text Tool bar.

Now, making sure the text layer is still selected in the layers palette on the bottom right of your screen, click on Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options.
For this image I ticked the “Bevel and Emboss” box, as well as the “Stroke” box.
The default colour for Stroke is red, so in order to change it, you’ll in to click on the actual word “Stroke” (i.e. not just tick the box). Now you can click on the red box and select whatever colour you want.
You can also change the size of the stroke, as the default size is 3.
Have a play with the other Style options, and once you’re happy with your change, click “OK”.
Now all your changes are done. If you want to “flatten” your image. I’d suggest saving a copy of this image as once you’ve flattened the layers, you can’t make change. To flatten, go to Layer > Flatten Image.
There you go!
