Colours of Nature
One of the beautiful things about spring are the colours of the flowers, not to mention the smells! I love flowers, and the colours of Australian flora is even more stunning after rain.
Recently, I went for a day trip up into the mountains, about a week after we had received some much needed rain. Now the colours of these particular plants are my favourites…
Firstly, the uniquely Australian Jacaranda tree. In years gone by, the younger population of Australia didn’t like the Jacaranda tree, as it only blossomed in November, which also happened to coincide with a very unpleasant time of year - school exams.
These days the Jacaranda can blossom from as early as September, and is usually finished blooming by early November. So, it doesn’t quite have the same association.
Another of my favourites (in terms of colour) is the Bougainvillea vine.
I say it’s a favourite only for colour, as this plant has nasty thorns on it. Many a time I have accidentally scraped myself on these thorns.
What would we have without colour photography!
