Beach Sunset
The most beautiful beach sunset I’ve ever seen was in Bali, amazingly enough. Hawaii comes a close second, but it’s magical watching the sun come sun and watch the ocean swallow it up.
Living on the east coast of Australia, it’s also a novelty. I generally see the sun rise out of the ocean, not set into it.
Regardless though, a tripod is a must when even attempt to photograph a sunset - unless you have the balcony rail of the local surf club at your disposal…
OK, so some of these photos aren’t perfectly sharp, but they at least captured the moment as the sun disappeared.
Here is the first shot - taken at about 6:30pm at Burleigh Heads at the Gold Coast.
This next photo was only taken about 10 minutes later. It just goes to show that in Queensland, when the sun starts to go down, it means business!
And now for the shot that would have needed a tripod. Even resting the camera on the balcony railing was enough to save this photo.
It was a beautiful summer evening. Next time I’ll remember to pack a tripod!
